Peter Nicholson
Executive & Creative Director, Foresight Design Initiative
Broadly knowledgeable on sustainability issues, Peter leads a multifaceted career focused on the creative pursuit of greater social, environmental and economic sustainability. He consults on and undertakes innovative sustainable design projects for a diversity of clients, including government agencies, institutional nonprofits, and diverse businesses. Considered a highly adept discussion facilitator, he hosts Foresight’s bimonthly Green Drinks panels and is in regular demand as a guest speaker, moderator and educator. Peter is dedicated to the education of the next generation of sustainability-minded leaders and regularly mentors interns as well as teaches the organization’s Urban Sustainable Design Studio.
Cecelia Ungari
Director of Education & Outreach, Healthy Green Goods
Cecelia Ungari was previously the Conservation Programs Coordinator for the John G. Shedd Aquarium. In that position, her principal responsibilities included the Right Bite sustainable seafood awareness program, the Green Initiative, and the West Indian Rock Iguana in-situ monitoring project. Often recognized as the “Worm Girl,” Cecelia managed the Aquarium’s vermiculture program and frequently conducted public workshops on this approach to compost production. Before joining the Shedd, Cecelia worked with geothermal energy systems and green building contractors in the Chicagoland area as well as with the Friends of the Chicago River. She is an honors graduate of North Park University, where she received a B.S. degree in Biology in 2003.
